i was always haunted by your smile.
that subtle hint of mischief...
that secret impish thought that lies behind every pout...
they are like poison to the vines of defense
wrapped securely around my heart,
like rust to the locks on the gates
that bar the entrance to my soul.

you are a thief.
a handsome, wily thief,
masquerading as a prince,
as a mighty hero out to sweep
the damsel in me off my feet -
distressed or not.

but this isn't a fairy tale,
and i'm not just any damsel
who wishes to be a princess.
i am, in fact, the feisty witch...
the cunning sorceress ready
to battle wits with you.

shall we dance this traitorous dance,
O princely thief among thieves?

 uncork that potent bottle
spill forth the thoughts that fester within
stab thy heart with a thousand tiny wounds
and let it bleed freely onto paper
with words no less truer
than the sentiments
that scald thy very soul

brand this pad with thy conviction
offer up thy laments
empty thy mind of caustic memories
die a hundred sublime deaths
to once again rejoice
in the blissful ecstasy of blessed rebirth

hearken now to my declaration
so avowed, earnestly proclaimed:
my voice shall ring and I
shall be reborn.

litte miss stupid held a snowflake in her hands.
she wanted to hold it forever, stare at it in wonder
for days on end.
but she knew the snowflake wouldn't last through the seasons
because it was meant only for winter - that season of innocence,
of purity, of everything clean and white.
she wanted it to last through the vibrant freshness of spring...
the warm brightness of summer...
and the stark beauty of fall.
but it was not to be.
it was never meant to be.
for snowflakes were frail and could not get past
the shackles of transient winter.
still, little miss stupid held on,
and frantically searched for ways to save
her precious snowflake.
as time fought against her,
and the snowflake melted away,
little miss stupid finally admitted to herself
that she had to let it go.
perhaps, in another winter, she would find
a magical snowflake that was hers and hers alone.
so she watched her precious snowflake
melt away in her hands
while holding on to hope in her heart.
and she told herself:
from today onwards, i shall be little miss stupid
no more.

After getting halfway through Dragon Quest V, I am now starting to feel OLD.

Yes, old. I've played through Nino's (my DQ5 hero's name, btw) entire life! First playing as chibi Nino -- at 8 years old? What 8-year-old kid goes traveling around the world, fighting monsters???

Anyway, so 10 years pass, Nino becomes a fine young man and goes off adventuring again. He can recruit monsters this time around, so yay! I love collecting, and bestiaries are cool. There seems to be a fair number of "unrecruitable" monsters, however.

Then comes the funny part -- choosing Nino's bride! Argh, I would have wanted to be able to change the names of the bride candidates, you know (so I can use my name, nyahahahah~). So, the story changes a bit depending on which girl you choose to marry, although there isn't anything major. I chose to go with Bianca, the step-cousin, for the sake of continuity. She's both fighter and magic user, though I think she doesn't really get that powerful in both. Nera, on the other hand, is a pure mage, and Debora is a strong fighter with support spells. (I will have to replay the game for the other brides~)

And then, more adventuring with wife and monsters in tow. Wife gets pregnant, gives birth to twins (a boy and a girl, who I get to name, yay~) gets kidnapped by monsters, is rescued by Nino, and then both get turned to stone. *sigh*

Nino the Statue gets auctioned off. 8 years pass. (Tell me that doesn't make you feel old!)

Nino gets rescued by Uncle and kids, and is presently off questing with the twins (& faithful monsters) to find beloved wife and mother. *phew*

Looks like Nino's son is the "legendary Hero" everyone's been waiting for, but he's still 8 years old. 25 hours on the game clock, and still a long way to go.

If I'd been playing the original SNES version and not on the DS, it'd be months before I finish this. FF3 was a breeze compared to this.

But it's fun and very addicting~

A potent combination! ~♥

I mentioned before in my LJ that Nino got me started on playing Dragon Quest. I'd been more of a Square person, and that time when I read his game nikki about Dragon Quest, I was still in the middle of revisiting Seiken Densetsu 3.

I also bought my Nintendo DS Lite after seeing that episode of Gakkou e Ikou where they tried to prank Nino but he was busy with his DS. *lol*

But Nino is not the only reason I bought a DS Lite. I've always been partial to Nintendo, but because there are too few DS gamers where I live, all I ever heard about was the Sony PSP. So when I learned about the DS, my mind was already half made up. Then I saw the episode, and it pretty much sealed the deal.

Mind, Nino is not my ichiban. It's Ohno. But he's a very, very close second, and I love him to bits. ^_^

Thus, I named my hero in Dragon Quest V "Nino". Sort of like a tribute for introducing me to the game. ^_^

And because I couldn't resist it, I started renaming the monsters I collected after JE boys (and some not so JE). The resulting fun I get everytime I battle or talk to them is really worth the trouble.

lol

Too bad I can't rename any of the brides. If I could, I'd use my own name, and that wedding scene would really be pure flail! Like, "Nino kisses Stef!"

If the flailing doesn't kill me, I'd probably die from laughing my head off.

"Do you, Nino, take Stef to be your wife, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for as long as you will be resurrected from death in the church?" says the priest of Mostroferrato.

Oh, God. This just pwns me.

I just finished watching Himitsu no Arashi-chan, and despite some boring moments, the challenge done by Jun and Sho really made my day. \(^o^)/

They were trying to do something similar to a certain video (I think it was an ad). There was this guy who would toss things and hit his targets perfectly, like tossing a CD into the CD player, an empty bottle into a crate behind him or into a trash bin without looking, etc.

The takes were funny, but the poor guys really felt the pressure. I could almost feel Jun getting pissed off, although in this case I think it was Sho who was feeling more irritated. The expressions on his face were priceless! So adorable, hehehe!

They showed some of the takes like:

Jun
- tossing a bottle of ketchup into a condiments holder while reading the paper; it took a friggin' 77 takes! Kudos to DoS Jun for holding on that long.
- tossing a sugar cube into a coffee cup: 3 takes (Sho's face upon seeing this was just awesome~)

Sho
- tossing 2 pieces of bread into a toaster - 33 takes along with a lot of adorable facial expressions LOL

BUT seeing Jun in tiny, tight shorts nearly made my eyes bleed. Iieeeeeeee!!! (The scene was to jump into a pair of jeans straight from the bed.)

I can't really describe it all that well, you'll just have to watch the episode. Hopefully a subbed one gets shared really soon!

Ooooh, and my dearest evil genius Nino won that yes-no portion.

Flail! =P

Last night I watched this show on Fuji TV where they interviewed two guys who were promoting a drama. One was rather cute. And since my Japanese is still way poor, all I could understand was that it was a drama adaptation of a manga.

A little later, the hosts started displaying the actual manga. I couldn't read Japanese, but the covers looked suspiciously like Fruits Basket. I dug up some more info & found out that I was right; the drama is Furuba, and the cute guy was, if I'm not mistaken, Kamiyama Ryuji of Jpop group Run&Gun.

This is the first time I've heard of them, so I don't really know any of their songs. Demo Kamiyama Ryuji-san wa honto ni kawaii desu. (^_^)

I realize that I am so late in flailing on this since the PV came out ages ago, but hey, let a fangirl flail freely, aight? (^_^)

I ♥ Ohno & Nino, therefore Ohmiya moments are inevitable~

1. Ohmiya moment # 1

I don't know what the hell Ohno is doing but I don't care because it's just too cute for words. *squee*

2. Ohmiya moment #2

And the others are totally ignoring the two. Yes, yes, let Ohmiya have their moment!
